PRESCHOOL (“Tales for Tots”)
Reading aloud has tremendous impact on a young mind and gives youngsters a head start on their education. You can’t begin reading aloud too soon! Experts agree that even the youngest baby benefits from being read to frequently. Reading aloud to a preschooler expands their vocabulary, saturates the mind with the way language is used, helps to develop listening skills, and teaches a child to think.
Our “Tales for Tots” program is usually held every other week throughout the school year.
Contact the library for dates and time.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Want to help your children keep busy and strengthen their reading skills? Every summer we host a Summer Reading program for all kids, even those who can not read yet can participate in the read-to-me category. Children who don’t read over the summer months when school is out are often at risk of losing some of their reading skills. Summer reading programs offer social interaction, programs, books and incentives to read for children of all ages. Children who read as few as six books over the summer are likely to keep or increase their reading skills.
Visit the Library to see what fun themes and activities will be held during the summer! Usually, weekly in-person activities will run through June and July with Summer Reading and Summer STEM Science programs.
